A college basketball participant accused of often punching a teammate at apply, knocking out some enamel and leaving him unconscious, has been charged with misdemeanor assault in Ohio.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports College of Akron redshirt sophomore middle Khadim Gueye pleaded now not responsible after being arrested this week for the allegedly unprovoked Dec. sixteen assault witnessed by coaches and teammates.
Gueye and his attorney would now not comment at his arraignment Friday.
Athletics director Larry Williams says Akron suspended Gueye, a 22-year-used from Senegal who’s sitting out this season after transferring from South Carolina.
Coach John Groce says he’ll “let the plan steal its course,” but he is now not commenting extra, citing gamers’ privateness.
The injured participant, Cleveland native Place Kostelac, uncared for two games but returned to play in gradual December.
