Sheffield United Females forward Sophie Jones has been charged with racially abusing Tottenham’s Renee Hector.

Hector made the allegations after a Championship game between the teams on 6 January.

Jones has been charged with using abusive or insulting words, and it is extra alleged they “integrated reference to ethnic origin and/or shade and/or bustle”.

The Blades stated they’d co-operated fully with the FA’s investigation.

“The club works closely with the EFL, the FA and Kick it Out and would carry to reiterate that it does now not condone racism or any form of discrimination,” Sheffield United’s assertion added.

“Sheffield United will now not observation extra on the discipline till the conclusion of the formal FA disciplinary listening to.”

Jones has till 15 February to reply to the price.

Hector made the allegations in a social media post after Tottenham had overwhelmed Sheffield United 2-1 in a 2nd-tier match.

She stated she had “bought some monkey noises from an opposition participant” and “the edifying reaction used to be to let football assemble the speaking”.

Spurs, who stated the alleged incident used to be reported to the referee by Hector during the sport, moreover reported it to the FA.
